I really like this series. The plots are sufficiently interesting to keep me turning the pages without being overly mentally taxing, and the characters are three-dimensional: you like them and think they’re mostly decent people, but you don’t always approve of everything they do - which is mostly how you feel about the people you actually know. Ten books into the series, they all feel like friends.
