They’re down here, they’re up there, they’re nowhere. They want the Earth, they want us to have it. They came to wipe us out, they came to save us.

But beneath these riddles lies one truth: Cassie has been betrayed. So has Ringer. Zombie. Nugget. And all 7.5 billion people who used to live on our planet. Betrayed first by the Others, and now by ourselves.

In these last days, Earth’s remaining survivors will need to decide what’s more important: saving themselves…or saving what makes us human.

Completes the story but not very well.

The book ties up the other two nicely, but that doesn't mean it was done well or in an interesting way. It's still just as readable as the prior two, but it falls flat in comparison and lends itself to a lot of predictable tropes and too-easy-to-follow paths. There's nothing that leaves you guessing, especially if you remember most of what happened in the past two books. Even if you've forgotten, he reminds you of it incessantly. You know who is going to do what.

The third volume in this series is certainly action-packed. Really action packed; yep, there was a ton of action. The pages just flew by... I think I got "page burn" turning the pages. ;)

In all seriousness, the story line was well concluded and interesting, if even a bit predictable.
