Marriages of convenience are so...inconvenient.

For months Holland Bakker has invented excuses to descend into the subway station near her apartment, drawn to the captivating music performed by her street musician crush. Review of 'Roomies' on 'GoodReads'

An absolutely delightful romance. The main character, Holland, is a bit of a mess, having finished her MFA with not much to prove for it, and Calvin is making a living as a subway busker. Their sham green-card marriage (so Calvin can play guitar in Holland's uncle's hit Broadway play) is not without its difficulties, but the story of course is so rewarding in the end. One plus about the book is that it was really funny, due in part to some awkward scenes—awkwardness that is totally expected for these characters and what they get themselves into, I should add. Also, they are totally adorable. This is exactly the light-hearted read I needed right now.
