Open statement: I've read this book twice. I read it first because I edited it and tried to provide suggestions to the writing. Second, I read it again to see what was published as the final project. This book was written by my friend's eight-year old daughter.
The illustrations are cute (in a My Little Pony kind of way, but they're all cats). The story is pretty good, though I would probably scale the ages up to first grade minimum (because there are some text-heavy pages).
The story was written about her own personal experiences, as she uses creative writing to help increase her understanding. She's a pretty bright kid (but I'm a bit biased).
