Bastian Greshake Tzovaras reviewed Apocalypticon by Clayton Smith
Review of 'Apocalypticon' on 'Goodreads'
A really solid take on the post-apocalypse genre: 95% of humanity are dead and for unknown reasons we are following two people on their quest to Morder, I mean, their road trip through the wastelands of what used to be the USA to Disney World.
I really enjoyed a book that makes use of the status quo, so the protagonists are not only very familiar with current pop culture-takes on the apocalypse (e.g. The Walking Dead) but also with the benefits of modern life (e.g. the internet and smart phones). It also is a really funny take on the post-apocalypse, which is nice to see for a change.
