A bit obvious, but still fun - and written at a pace that is great for the beach.
Nutshell: A society wife from 1950s England receives a telegram informing her she's an heiress. The catch? She doesn't know the deceased woman or why she would stand to inherit a sizable fortune, so she explores Paris to learn more about the mysterious Eva d'Orsey. It's a quick read and easy to guess, but there are some quirky details (about perfume, numbers and patterns) and the settings (1927 New York, Monte Carlo, and London) that make it a bit fun.
