It's been a while that I read The Old Man and the Wasteland. And now I read Savage Boy and this book nearly back to back. I think all in all the trilogy works well. It was nice to see how the stories of the first two books intertwine for the finale and all in all I really enjoyed reading my way through yet another post-apocalyptical US.
The development of the characters is fun to see and the whole 'setting out onto a journey'-roadtrip-thingy is well done. Only getting Christian religion force-fed in the final chapters somewhat ruined the end for me. Yes, it's obvious to see that it's a "redemption-plus-sacrifice-for-the-greater-good" story, no need to add Jesus into it.
