New at her high school, Imogene enlists the help of her introverted friend Maxine and the ghost of a boy who haunts the school after receiving warnings through her dreams that soul-eaters are threatening her life.
It had been a long while since I last read a Charles de Lint novel, but this was exactly the sort of story I expected. It was comforting to be immersed again in Newford, his imagined city where the best of his stories are set. This wasn't among those best stories, but this YA urban fantasy was a fun read.

A focus on friendship and wit rather than romance and violence - a refreshing change that works really well and sweeps you up into the story!
