great, impressive realistic fantasy

i had read «gatherer of clouds» right after «initiate brother» but must have forgotten to mark as read on bookwyrm. the dilogy left a great impression, i loved it. it is a great example of what i call realistic fantasy: there are no dragons no magic, and tge world is a work of fiction, but it is so alive and believable.
read it. if you loved «game of thrones» but wished it were set in ancient china with samurai-like culture, read this now :-)
