Oh, neat. Stuart Shell is an ( ) player, and this series has an open RSS feed, hosted by KIOS 91.5 FM. I haven't listened to terrestrial radio for decades, but I do want to support podcasts they put out via RSS, and I didn't know they had any. Are there others? https://pca.st/yddysxbq

Conversation with architect and sustainability consultant Stuart Shell for whom built environments are not just physical spaces—they are reflections of what we value and how we relate to one another. Who gets comfort, who gets beauty, who - and what - gets left out? Shell invites us along with him to consider the built world as our collective lived and moral landscape.

Stuart Shell is an architect, sustainability consultant, and passionate advocate for reimagining how our built environments reflect and shape our shared values. …

Scott's review of All the Ways to Go - BookWyrm

This was a good book. Very much written for kids. But still smart, and well made. If you can read it as your kid self, you can get much out of it. Or just learn where kids are now.

The characters are well done. Even some of the more ancillary ones. It does a good job of presenting annoying characters. Then humanizing them. It doesnt do this by...

This is very much meant for a kid audience, but it's not flimsy. If you can put yourself back to your 12yo self, and can adjust for technological inflation, I think this can be enjoyed. But these kids act like 12yo's. They get frustrated by things adults might not bat an eye at. It's still early chapters on it. But it's going ok. Congrats Choi Jeong! She takes the Senko Cup World Women's Championship for the second year in a row.

Her tournament games featured her aggressively opening with multiple weak groups scrabbling for life, so her superior reading ability could carry her to victory in the middle game fighting.

Richard Bozulich (Kiseido) has started a new website with instructional articles about go.

https://goworld-online.com

From the announcement: “The aim of this site is to publish a series of short, easy-to-read, one-point lessons on various go techniques, interesting positions from recent professional games, and pertinent news items.”

Three interesting articles so far. Ignore the slightly dated look; when I’m 85+ years old, my website might not be up to the newest standards either.

I think this year's EGC reignited my passion for go. Sadly I only had a chance to stay the weekend.

It was my first time going to an international go event, and first time in years since I've last played live. But damn, I had completely forgotten how fun the game is over a real board.
