I was passed a signed first? edition of a #Pratchett book today because it's original owner had died, their daughter didn't want it but wanted someone who would be chuffed by it to have it and my wife had mentioned in passing that she had made a shelf for my full Discworld collection which apparently means I'm the kind of guy who should have it.
Which is nice all round if you ask me.

Die Fortsetzung von "Ab die Post" beschäftigt sich mit dem Bankwesen und seinen Auswüchsen. Natürlich auf die übliche, amüsante Weise von Terry Pratchett. Nicht umwerfend komisch und nicht mit dem Reiz der durch einen neuen Protagonisten entstand aber trotzdem gut.
GNU Terry Pratchett. 10 years gone but never forgotten. Looking around this corner of the internet I see people starting their Discworld journeys for the first time. I see long time readers finding each other. I see friends who started as fellow fans. He changed so many lives. Thank you Terry. I'll raise a toast today on your birthday. Ab Die Post ist amüsant. Richtig herzhaft gelacht habe ich aber erst im Finale der Geschichte. Was soll ich noch mehr sagen? Es ist halt ein Pratchett: bissig und mit einem guten Blick für die Unzulänglichkeiten der menschlichen Gesellschaft.

It's very specifically NOT a Terry Pratchett game... But I'm reading Nation currently and very much *feels like* a Terry Pratchett game.
Because the news has never been so anxiety-provoking, let's take a look at pictures celebrating one of my favorite Discworld characters, the witch Tiffany Aching (Tiphaine Patraque in FR). Following the books' description, with her "midnight outfit" (I loved tooling leather constellations) and a blue hat for her "hat full of sky", she is an excellent reminder to fight against obscurantism.

Buch drei für dieses Jahr, wieder was auf Englisch damit ich besser in Übung komme. Ich mag #Pratchett immer noch sehr, auch nach Jahrzehnten. Gerade die frühen (und kürzeren) Bände sind voll mit vielen kleinen Gags. #Bookstodon
