A solid four stars.
The story was well-written and engaging. I took away the fifth star because it was a bit predictable and I had the main nugget of plot worked out a bit too early. Perhaps a little slower reveal of the antagonist would have helped. However, there were enough twists and added detail to keep it interesting and suspenseful as we travelled towards the expected ending. Also, I appreciated that the occult was not treated as a toy or game to taken lightly., and is, in fact a very dangerous path to walk. Like the inhabitants of Pandora's box, once set free, certain things do not want to return to their prison.
