The Martian was amazing, and while this one was a different plot, it felt just as amazing and scientific.
I went in there knowing nothing about the plot and after the first few pages I expected a Martian 2.0, but then it went off on a tangent and it was so, so great. I'm glad I didn't know where this was going because no blurb could do it justice.
The only things I miss a bit are quotes like "Duct tape is magic and should be worshipped" or "In space, nobody can hear you scream like a little girl", but that's a small price to pay.

I thought I didn't like science-fiction, but this kind (I think it's called "hard sci-fi"?) is 100% of what I want in a new genre for me.
