A team of astronauts in the International Space Station collect meteorological data, conduct scientific experiments …
You are floating in space.

Poetic, with a fascinating rhythm that made this book feel like it was made for reading aloud. A short amount of time passes for the astronauts on the international space station but it feels like the book takes place over years and years as you learn about each of them. Loved it.
What a very strange book. A collection of short stories with interconnected threads and recurring characters. Sometimes different versions of the same theme, sometimes the same characters but not. Some of the stories were pleasant, some a bit odd. A couple of them were downright brilliant and possibly deserved further exploring. One or two left me wondering what on earth I'd just read.
Finally reading the manga for one of my favourite anime. Mostly didn't do it sooner because of cost. The anime adaptations are, so far, very true to the original. I know it diverges, this another version of their story and I'm excited to see how it ends this time, what nuances didn't make it to anime, etc. it's impossible to enjoy Fullmetal Alchemist in isolation so I'm just going to embrace the multi threaded nature of how it lives in my brain.
The strongest of the trilogy, Alina struggles with her quest for more power and what the future could possibly hold once her job is done. I enjoyed the extra time we got to spend with other characters, each feeling a lot more rounded and real than previous books. The end felt odd after the busy and chaotic battle but endings are always hard. So many options lie ahead and you have to pick one but you don't get to explore what it really means.
A very different ending from the show, better. I don't dislike either ending and it's hard to compare them, especially as the show didn't really get to wrap up properly and went in such a different direction.
The final chapter with the girl and the boy felt like a warm memory of half remembered childhood summers. A stillness, a potential that stretches out forever but it's …

I enjoyed my time in this universe and intend to visit again.

An enjoyable read. Light swashbuckling.

The world and the people around our protagonist are much more fleshed out in this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found all the characters much deeper and more interesting than book 1. An excellent sequel. Looking forward to the conclusion.

A tough read, auto bio where things actually happen always is. I enjoy the wide and relaxed approach to an art style to help shoe Zoe's internal conflicts between different parts of her mind, memory and personality. I also very much enjoyed the immediate feel of the comic and it's ability to break the narrative to start again, reframe a scene or break the fourth wall. In comics you can do anything.

I've had a flick through this and absolutely love the different art styles, simple and detailed sat next to each other on the pages. Looking forward to reading. I start now...

A fascinating sci-fi classic, occasionally a bit dated in our main character's reactions to a culture without gender or sex, his need to see gender where there is none is sometimes a little overstated- but even that is a fascinating read. Overall a brilliant book, touching on politics, beliefs, culture, friendships and vast cold, frozen landscapes, familiar and alien at the same time.

A unique look at the intersection of being LGBTQ and black
5 stars
Wow. A book that gives you a glimpse into so many lives. A unique look at the intersection of being LGBTQ and black. A complex set of stories, all interconnected, visiting friends and family, current times and historical. Some characters stories are harder to read than others, this book deals with some very difficult topics, ones that are sadly very familiar.
By the end of the book I felt I knew all our characters so well, their lives, influences and ambitions.
