In the fires of heaven you can feel that Rand is starting to grow up and accept his responsibilites. Some great fighting in this book and things are really starting to tense up as the Lord of the Dark's prison starts to crumble.

It was whilst reading this book that i heard the author had died and the series was incomplete, i decided not to read any more until the series had been completed by somebody else. that happened ages ago and I never did pick up book 6...but after reading the sleep-inducing Game of Thrones it has inspired me to pick up the story again, I may re-read book 5 just to remember where the story had got to.
