Tolkien's kids were very lucky to get these letters from Father Christmas every year. Tolkien put so much effort into creating characters and exciting battles between polar bears, elves and goblins, straight out of LOTRs. The pictures he drew were also amazing, he put in so much effort.

Was also nice to see how he was helping his daughter deal with WW2.

A fantastic Christmas read. One thing was missing though, it would have been really interesting to see what his kids were writing to father Christmas.
