I read murder, torture, monsters, SA and don't require an TW, but this book found my weak spot. lol
Lennox is dealing with integrating back into civilian life and being out of the closet (sort of). He is very self-contained and private. So what does Ash do, right after Lennox goes out on a limb and admits he isn't comfortable with the situation, but walk right into his personal space and kiss him. As one would assume Lennox makes a run for it and doesn't come back around for several weeks.
Now I have a very strong personal space and I felt myself recoil when reading this scene, and then get seriously pissed off when Ash has the audacity to be annoyed Lennox disappears! Not only is Ash personally offended Lennox didn't love his kiss- that he never asked for and gave all kinds of signs he didn't …

Now I have a very strong personal space and I felt myself recoil when reading this scene, and then get seriously pissed off when Ash has the audacity to be annoyed Lennox disappears! Not only is Ash personally offended Lennox didn't love his kiss- that he never asked for and gave all kinds of signs he didn't want, but Lennox's friend tells Lennox he didn't think Ash would take it too well if Lennox told him he didn't want a relationship for a "bullshit" reason.
takes a calming breath Let me be very clear in my opinion. Lennox does not owe Ash a goddamn thing. Not an explanation, not a conversation, not a return of the kiss. Now Lennox is being guilted into talking with Ash and being honest about deeply personal demons he's wrestling with. This on top of the fact he has repeatedly said he does not want a relationship with Ash. I don't care if it's a good reason or not, or if it's "best" for him or not. Lennox has stated multiple times he doesn't want a relationship and f*cking no one in this story is respecting that.
I understand this is a me thing and I'm reacting strongly, but I'm not wrong about any of my points.
