The first run of Gwen Stacy's Spider-Woman, Spider-Gwen, was one of the first comics I read. With Spider-Gwen being a new character, this series feels a lot like her origin story. It sets up villains for her, Matt Murdock and Frank Castle are both interesting. While there are aspects of the story I like, there were times I didn't feel particularly engaged in the story. I felt rather let down by the Gwen-Miles crossover that sounded like it would be big, but turned out to not be much. The art of the series is noticeably different from other comics I have seen, adopting a very purple series that can be very nice to look at. The only difference in the art is with the Spider-Women issues which has a very different art style which I do not like in the least. On the whole, its an interesting start to the character, but there are likely some improvements that can be made.
