Couldn't stop reading!

I'd intended to start reading this before bed, and only read a couple of pages.

And then I read a couple more. And then I realised I ought to go to bed... so then I read some more.

In the end I went to bed... and carried on reading. Absolutely could not put it down and was bereft when I finished it. I want more! I love a good enemies-to-lovers, especially when they're adorable dorks who're given a much-needed magical nudge... and the angst is just delightful. Sounds a bit weird to say, but it was so well done.

I loved this one too. Again, I didn't find it confusing, probably because this time my frame of reference was Warhammer x Marathon Infinity x Paranoia Agent, but I am very curious how the third book will go, considering the end of the second.

Well, time to find out!

finished reading Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir (The Locked Tomb, #1)

Tamsyn Muir’s Gideon the Ninth unveils a solar system of swordplay, cut-throat politics, and lesbian …

An incredibly fun romp reminiscent of Gormenghast and Warhammer, with so much added snark and humour. I seem to be in the minority for not feeling lost in the slightest, even though I listened to the first half in bed at night (before it became clear I absolutely NEEDED to know what happened next and started listening to it at work too) and thus kept dozing off and had to keep rewinding when I woke up again.

Moira Quirk's narration was incredible, and it was an absolute delight to hear Welsh and Yorkshire accents in an audiobook.

And now I need to go and buy the next book.

TBR list? What's that?
