A less theological writing compared to his other works. Writing his emotions, you can see him being pulled back and forth. Might not be for everyone, but I certainly gleamed something from it. It was interesting the distinction he made between the images we make of people in our own mind as opposed to their actual makeup.

Absolutely amazing book! Great arguments for the existence of Miracles, as well as for Christian creation. The order of things, if you will. Out of C.S. Lewis books, this is definitely one of the ones up there at the top. Along with Mere Christianity and The Abolition of Man.

Although, I personally found it a bit difficult to parse the metaphorical nature of this book, such as the ghost people as opposed to the solid people, I still got much from this book. Sometimes we do forget to focus solely on God. And it is that which we place higher than God which is what ultimately keeps us from him. This book really hammers in on that point.

Great book I suppose for what it sets out to accomplish. Specifically, the question, "Does Prayer Change Things?" Saw someone recommend it on instagram. Got the book because I struggle with my own prayer life, and I wouldn't say this book helped much. Enjoyed reading it never the less.

I wouldn't recommend this book for deep theological study. At it's core, it's another self-help book. Considering I've never read one of these "self-help" books before, I have nothing to really compare it to. However, the way Jordan goes about demonstrating the reason for and effects of said rules often felt to me irregular. I didn't particularly like the final rule, as it was short, and half of it seemed to have been spent talking about his daughter's arthritis condition, which I didn't quite see the correlation between that and petting cats. Despite these lesser issues I've had, I find the book as a great reminder for how to carry oneself. Favorite rule was probably 8, on honesty. Can't say I don't know what it's like to be dishonest. Loved the occasional insertion of a smiley face. Makes the book seem all so much more genuine. Although, it also shows …
