Oh my gosh, I loved this. Through the Woods is a collection of short tales that could I guess be considered narrative poetry. The stories are not for the most part at all terrifying, but they speak to that darkness inside you that makes you scared to peek out from under the blankets in case there are monsters lurking nearby. (PS. There are.) The collection is beautifully illustrated and it really adds to the creepy atmosphere of the stories. I feel like I want to buy a copy of this book just to frame some of the illustrations!
