Thomas Kuhn: The Structure of Scientific Revolutions (1976, University of Chicago Press)

Apparently independent of any phenomenological studies, Kuhn manages to give an account of science and progress that also fits with the phenomena of being-in-the-world, to borrow a phrase from Heidegger. As such Kuhn not only advances our understanding of science but helps deconstruct scientism while preserving the knowledge gained through scientific exploration. This is really a "must read" for scientists and philosophers.

John Dewey: The Educational Situation (Paperback, 2007, Dewey Press)

Review of 'The Educational Situation' on 'Goodreads'

An excellent book that surprisingly is still very much applicable nearly a century after Dewey's first critiques if the American educational system and its problems including the current emphasis on theory over praxis and memorization over thinking and egalitarian principles over elitist endeavors. It is a must read for all educators and critics of teachers and public schooling.
