I so hope someone looking for an actual religious book reads this by mistake. It's a cracking, humorous and eye-opening read, going through the many aspects of taking both the Old and New Testament literally. Jacobs highlights even further the futility of following the entire Bible to the letter, with all of it's contradictions and sets up some challenging ideas through the many people he talks to throughout the year.

I want to use "theological cooties" in conversation sometime - his wife, Julie deserves a medal for her grounded and humorous standing throughout, especially for royally messing with the purity laws. Brilliant.
