Devon Price: Unmasking Autism (Paperback, 2022, Octopus Publishing Group)

Have you, a friend or family member been living with undiagnosed autism?

For every visibly …

Okay.

The book has some helpful info and is okay overall, though honestly it didn't do much for me personally - maybe because I spent a lot of time reading neurodivergent people's experiences and general info online before reading the book, so it felt a bit redundant. Why this book is called "What lives in the woods" is beyond me - the woods are only marginally involved, if at all. Most of the time the story takes place inside the manor... Someone on GoodReads commented on this book "I feel like I read a whole book and somehow missed the entire plot", and that exactly describes my reading experience. The plot was so confusing and going nowhere, the characters sometimes seemed interchangeable because they lacked any real personality, and some scenes in the book felt like "Is this happening right now, or is it something someone tells me has happened?" It's a pity because it seemed interesting and I initially read it because I wanted to read the sequel... which I'm now not sure I'll ever read, tbh.
