Review of 'Gamechanger' on 'Goodreads'

Tough read with a lot of tech and internet jargon, plus bouncing between real, VR, and augmented worlds. But it was well worth it! Very interesting, engaging story!

Richard P. Feynman: "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!" (2018, W. W. Norton & Company)

Review of '"Surely You\'re Joking, Mr. Feynman!"' on 'Goodreads'

Mr. Feynman is indeed a "curious character". An entertaining look into the life of the Nobel Prize winning theoretical physicist, and not just the scientific side. It is very interesting how some of the issues he complains about are some of the same issues that exist today: "new math", bad textbooks, biased research, etc.

Lucy Cooke: The Truth About Animals (Paperback, 2019, Basic Books)

Review of 'The Truth About Animals' on 'Goodreads'

It was an entertaining book, interesting and at times funny. The author seems to be obsessed with animal sex and defecation. Because of some of her detailed descriptions of animal sexual anatomy and habits, I hesitate to recommend this book to my middleschooler, although he is interested in science, nature, and animals.

Robin Yocum: The essay (2012, Arcade Pub.)

Review of 'The essay' on 'Goodreads'

Very good, quick read. It has a good moral. Basically, never let others' expectations steer your life. Find what you enjoy, and follow your passion. Since it is set in Vinton County, not far from where I live, it made it feel even more real.

Review of 'The sun does shine' on 'Goodreads'

Wow! Mr. Hinton has a lot to teach everyone, not just about capital punishment, death row, racism, or injustice. He exudes perseverance, tolerance, forgiveness, grace... I couldn't imagine going through what he went through and having the fortitude to make it out with my sanity. Despite the dark setting on death row, there is a lot of positives to take away from this book. There is also a lot that we as states, and as a country have to think hard about.
