developer in norway. i read mostly technical books, sci-fi and fantasy - for my own enjoyment of course. life is too short to finish a boring book.

Putting this away for now. There are great concepts and cool things, but it just doesn't pull at me. Feels like a chore to read, so then I don't.

Fantasy has moved on since the 70s - this might have been readable then but not now.
Just looking at the maps makes me cringe. "Westland" to the west, "Northland" to the north, "Southland" to the south and (you guessed it) "Eastland" to the east.
With that level of creativity I'm dropping this, I cannot be bothered.

great fun!
5 stars
This was a lot of fun, and I highly recommend it! A bit of a Mary Sue protagonist, but there's so many creative and fun twists and turns that is thoroughly enjoyable throughout.
