Have any of y'all tried https://floorp.app/?
It looks intriguing, as a reskin of Firefox not under the control of Mozilla's increasingly questionable decision making, but I'm not exactly know for picking winners when it comes to alt browsers.

@klara@wandering.shop I have the portable version on my work computer. I haven't really used it much, but it looks like Vivaldi, but rendered with Gecko. I've been using LibreWolf, which is a more secure fork of Firefox that runs somewhere between it and Tor Browser. That I had to ease up a bit to get as a daily driver. I will need to look more into Florp too.
@Tourma I've heard of LibreWolf also, but what people have said about it has strong "open source project maintainers say you're wrong to want to do what you want to do" vibes.
@klara@wandering.shop So this got me messing around with Floorp. Just realized it has two o's.
It looks good, like I said, Vivaldi, but Gecko. It can do side tabs, has rounded edges, etc. I'm running the portable version on my work computer, and it seems to lag. Not sure if it's because it's portable, because I have so much stuff open, (firefox, librewolf, thunderbird, and floorp.) or if that's just how it is. Can't handled Facebook's E2EE. Which is one of my reasons to use a not-firefox at work....Well, now it is working. Huh. I had to remove Google from the search engine options to get it's pin off of the new tab page. Might have just missed where to press, but I don't use it either way.
I'll have to play with it more on my home computer with a non-portable version. I really like how it looks, so …

I'll have to play with it more on my home computer with a non-portable version. I really like how it looks, so if I could mimic Librewolf's behavior, it would be the best of both worlds. I also like the fact that the icon is not Blue. I have so many that are the same color that I often click on the wrong thing.
It has officially replaced LibreWolf as my primary browser on my home computer. Just as fast as any other Firefox fork and it looks really good doing it. I'm trying side tabs, but it's going to take a lot to get used to. I also turned off the rounded corners because I also use the fingerprint-resistant letterboxing and they don't play well together.
I don't know how hard it is compared to Librewolf, but I'm enjoying it.
However, I've given up on it on my work computer. The lag is unbearable. I'm assuming that it's from being a portable app, but I don't know.
@Tourma This is all good to know, thank you!
