V171 reviewed Poison for Breakfast by Lemony Snicket
Review of 'Poison for Breakfast' on 'Goodreads'
4 stars
This was such a wonderfully nostalgic dive back into Snicket's writing that I forgot how much I missed. It really was like revisiting an old friend when you have both grown up. All the core parts of his style and humor are there, but with a mature perspective. I won't lie and say that I understood the "point" of the book considering it is a mixture between philosophy and memoir, but that didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying it. While the story is charming enough, his straightforward prose and unique humor is what really made me enjoy this.
