So very good
5 stars
This is vastly better than I expected. The writing is excellent, characters convincing, and the humour is immaculate. After reading a few too many 'extreme horror' books that were essentially disgusting porn, finding something that focused on a real relationship between deeply disturbed characters was incredibly refreshing. The whole story is carried by the protagonists detachment, which allows for a more clinical description of events and actions driven by pure need rather than rage or sadism.
If you're looking for quality splatter/extreme, this is easily one of the best I've read
