Nice and light. I liked the overall vibe here, kind of a classic snob vs. slob dynamic and it being a semi-reunion wracked with bitterness is a plus.

Knocked a couple stars off for more personal pet peeves than anything else. I’m not a big fan of stories where there’s an assault that really, truly, didn’t need to be there. Especially when the victim involved is a child. Second pet peeve is that the sex is written like how you’d expect for an old English romance type, with a lot of vernacular that’s never really been my thing.

But yeah! Overall liked it. Probably won’t check out the second one though.

(Listened to the audiobook read by Martin Swain, who had a lot of charm and a great knack for character voices)
