One of Neil Gaiman's many masterpieces. I like nearly all about his writing: his fluent style, the wonderfully painted atmosphere, the mixing of the real world with the magical, strong plotting, convincing characters with whom you can sympathise; it all comes together in this marvel of a fantasy novel.
