I really wanted to enjoy this but there was such a lack of world building? I watched the Prime show to try to connect the concepts and make sure it wasn't me, and I am bummed. This was so heavily recommended to me, but I have read such better sci-fi from other talented authors recently, this was disappointing!

-The protagonist has to keep taking pulls of liquor and smoking cigarettes. I am grossed out and bored. It's like on every single page. Every. Single. Page. I get it. The space ship stinks? Ew?
-The beginning had me thinking I would be following the woman in captivity, not two random men who are very morally gray. The summary just did not match the book for me, and this one seems overhyped. I don't want to rate it since I couldn't get into this book, and really genuinely tried to.
-There is almost zero science? I really want science in my science fiction. I will watch Star Wars or read Divergent or one of many other wonderful sci-fi or dystopian books if I want something without genuine science.

On a continued search for wonderful science fiction with world building, actual science, a cool plot, and something interesting! I do not care about the scarcity of the water on board the ship, thanks though!
