When it comes to modern retellings, I’m typically unimpressed. However, this novel took a feminist and surprisingly faithful approach to Mary Shelley’s gothic masterpiece. I was impressed and moved by this unique take and would happily read another gothic retelling by White if she ever chooses to tackle another.
