I don't know why I wasn't too invested in the story. I did love the setting, but I didn't feel close to the characters, except Magnus Bane who only played a really small part in the book. That will hopefully change during the rest of the series. And the plot twist was no revelation to me. All in all, an okay book with a lot of potential for the remaining books.
