Am I curious about "what happens next"? Mildly. Enough to wade through another 500 pages? Nope. I think the only reason I finished it was cuz it was a loan from the library that was coming due.
Also - be warned, there's a torture scene that's a bit too detailed for my tastes. I ended up skipping a couple of pages to get past that.

Not sure I'm up for the rest of it. For some reason, this was a slog for me. The characters were good, the plot was solid. Good world building.
Maybe it's there were too many characters and I often felt like I was missing context. And it was way too easy to get distracted by other books.
It wrapped up pretty well in the end, with a good setup for a sequel, but I kinda feel like it could have about 20% shorter and been a better novel. Tighter.
Seeing traces of other stories she's written later. And loving how she's winding past and present and future, old myths and current events. Such a fantastic writer. I think I can only handle one story a day. They each deserve time to settle in and take up residence.
