I love Sanderson, but sometimes he hits you over the head a little too hard with the foreshadowing. I think he mentioned Wax's earring 47 times in The Alloy of Law. He revealed its purpose in Shadows of Self like it was a surprise, but anyone that read Era 1 had to have known what was coming.
Still enjoying book 2 of course.
