Started out an interesting mysterious disappearance plot line but turns out it's not really about that at all. Hard to get past the seemingly ludicrous idea of warring desert gangs.

I think it may have been more palatable if the writing style wasn't trying too hard to describe things with far too many words too clever for themselves.

Ended up somewhat aimless and lacked care about the characters. Decided to stop reading.
