Fuchsia Dunlop, Fuchsia Dunlop: Shark's Fin and Sichuan Pepper : A Sweet-Sour Memoir of Eating in China (Hardcover, 2008, W. W. Norton)

This was an interesting book. It had a lot more history than I thought there'd be; it's not a bad thing, but I skimmed through some of the slow parts. Dunlop's descriptions were rich, and I enjoyed all the food details she wrote about. On the flipside, one of the early chapters was fairly gory, and I ended up skipping that chapter all together. Overall, it's a great read on a lazy day.
