I'm starting to detect a trend with Tchaikovsky's stories. They are almos always about The End of the World, or The End of the World as We Know It. And he is good portraying this.
"The Hyena and the Hawk", or rather the whole trilogy, it's not the exception, but he was announcing this from the beginning of the story in book one "The Tiger and the Wolf". You could say "this is the one about the gods and the souls, and what we destroy just because we are not capable of notice that it exists".
I quite liked the ending of this story.

Well, once I forged ahead chapter one, the rest of the book is not as disturbing as the fist few pages of the book. Actually the rest of the story is quite average and a little bit obvious. But the world is believable. It has some issues toward the end, and it telegraphs who is the killer, but it's a decent story for a YA book.

Well, it certainly is the continuation of "Network Effect", but I liked this one more. Although I feel it lacks something.

I knew Joanne Harris wouldn't let me down! The story is nice, has a female teenager protagonist, it´s packed with action and seemingly straightforward and simple, with a low count of pages, and also a low count on characters, as a "Young Adult" book should be. But those were all the concessions the author made in order to market this story to the aforementioned Young Adults. Behind the cosy exterior, this is a finely crafted mystery. It´s a little short, sure, but it's worth reading, specially if you like the Norse mythology.

Interesting... maybe it was not the moment to read this. Although it certainly it ends way better that it starts.

Filler and more filler. As the author says at the end: 'Volume 15 is going to be the preparation for the final battle, and Volume 16 will be the last volume, but I feel like Volume 15 won’t be exciting enough in that case.'. And it sure isn't! She could have taken half the next book, throw away the filler and graft said half into this book.
Anyway, just avoid these chapters:

The rest of the book is sort of 'OK', but the necessary info for understanding what will happen in the next book is mingled with the filler, so you can't skip it as easily as the first chapters.

An interesting epistolary mystery novel, where Mrs. Sayers displays all her skills to write believable characters through their psychology. Although at the beginning and all through the middle it can be slow and a little tedious (Mrs. Hamilton's letters are positively boring, darling! Didn't you find them so?), the ending is worth it. A very interesting portrait of the late 1920's British society.

Simple nice story. A little bit obvious and a little bit forced in some parts, but "the journey" is what counts, not the destination, I suppose. I liked it.

I know it has some issues, and it feels a little rushed towards the end, but I really liked it. Maybe it's because it made me see more clearly some issues with my family, and this was the perfect book for the perfect moment.
