Humor was good, pacing was good, action was good, character development was good. The only disappointment, if I dare call it that, is that now I'm done reading the book and there is not anymore to read here.

It's not a bad book. It's "short" compared with other Sanderson books. After I finished I found out that this was originally a writing exercise that got turned into a one-off book. I enjoyed the book well enough, and I am looking forward to the next trilogy. It was fun and action-packed.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I will recommend it to others. My brain was quite a bit muddled by the beginning of the book, which is the fault of my brain. I am excited to see what more there is.

I really liked this book. I felt that the author did a superb job of giving multiple people's perspectives and motivations. It was a really enjoyable book and I can safely recommend it if you like fantasy books.

Jim Butcher: Academ's Fury (Codex Alera) (Paperback, 2006, Ace)

I tried to go back to back from book #1 to this book; I had difficulty. Book #1 ended in a lot of excitement and book #2 had to start a new story, which meant new setup and a slower pace. It's really my fault for enjoying the first book and trying to go straight into the second without pausing. You do get to see more development of the "main" story. So book #2 took a while longer for me to read than book #1, but after I gave myself a little pause in reading, I was hooked again.
