The world and character building across this series is pretty darn spiffing. I particularly enjoyed some of the bizarre tactics from this one as well.
Okay. Maybe 3.5 stars, but this is where this story becomes a bit of a chore. It gripped me eventually, but for a while I had little desire to pick it up. Judged solely on my desire to now immediately read the next book it could have gotten four stars, but that'd be misguiding.
