Pretty good hard SF, AI and cosmology and etc.

These are definitely fun reads. Some of them get slow at times, especially if you aren't into scientific and mathematical exposition. The author writes characters who are all sort of rational and smart and similar to each other, because what he's really interested in is the ideas, more than the people. But given that, these are well written, interesting, and thought provoking.
