He gets interestingly close to the idea of the Hogfather as being born from the woods themselves, and the pig an ancestral figure of terror from the days of the retreating icesheets (Rob Holdstock territory, hardly new for Terry P. either). The urban myth / contemporary legend that Santa Claus’s robe is only recently depicted as being red (it used to be green; he also had antlers...) is mentioned but despatched. A shame Hogfather went down so ill with me, because I enjoyed Feet of Clay. Is there another one since this? Rumours are heard prophesying Jingo; apart from that...? The imminent death of the Discworld has been announced for years but reports have been greatly exaggerated. (Pratchett: "You’ll pay me what for another one?").
