What an ending. Bayaz’s heel turn recontextualises the trilogy. Our POV characters each experience a pyrrhic victory mirroring Adua’s destruction. Some tantalising mysteries left unexplained: particularly the exact nature of the Bloody-Nine. Standard berserker mode? Demonic possession? Something else? At least Glokta found some happiness.
