Un roman un peu moins violent que certains précédemment publiés. Comme de nombreux auteurs désormais, la mise en place prend 90% de l'écriture et le dénouement est achevé vite fait en 1 ou 2 chapitres à peine. Le fond de l'histoire, les trafics d'animaux africains, y compris le contexte des guerres civiles, est un peu passé rapidement. Un bon roman, mais pas exceptionnel non plus.
