This is such a beautiful little book. It started off slowly for me, but I came to love the characters. Chambers has such a powerful way of dealing with the human. Her Monk and Robot books nailed it, and this one does too. I cheered our little gang of space explorers all the way through. I feel like Chambers gets me in ways that few other writers do, even though her characters do such different things than I do. As a result, it tells me that there’s something universal here, and it’s so calming—even rewarding—to see it.
