I enjoyed the volumes of Sandman that precede this, but often felt like I was missing something. Why is this series so lauded? Was it the kind of thing that you needed to experience with in its heyday to really appreciate? Well, I’ve read the Kindly Ones now, and I get it. What a gods-damned masterpiece.
