Chris Kyle: American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History

Review of 'American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History' on 'Goodreads'

I gave this book at extra star because at least Kyle had the courage to include chapters written by his wife that are real and honest.

I struggle with giving a book like this a less than stellar rating because I really respect what he did for our country, but this book (like Lone Survivor and No Easy Day) lacks any nuance or hint of the inner struggle of being a killer. In fact, Chris revels in his role with no hesitations, no reflection, no remorse. He hates the Iraqis, even those that are considered allies. It doesn't even deal with what I imagine is a very real struggle when returning to normal life. He just crashes into everything he attempts.
