This book contains Nick Hornby's collected columns about reading and books in the art magazine "The Believer". It drags on a bit to be honest but there were moments I enjoyed reading.
Since I moved to North America I started reading up on black and indigenous history of this continent. This book paints a vivid picture of the underground railroad, the trek that thousands of slaves took to flee the US towards Kanada. It anchors on the inspiring and rich life story or Thornton and Lucie Blackburn who escaped slavery on that trek. Well worth your time! There's also a fabulous audiobook read by Karen Chilton.
