it's bordering on trauma porn, the same kind that made me quit "A Slow Fire Burning" last year. but it's just bordering on that enough to not put me off completely. these characters clearly have a raison d'être beyond being the people shitty stuff happens too. they also have motivations that keep them going, which makes this a bit more of a captivating read so far.
